  1. I know I haven't been around in ages but that email was one of the last things I expected to see. Jesus christ, that's beyond awful and I'm in shock. RIP Torn. I don't even know what else to say to this.
  2. (Can't remember if this sort of thread necromancy with pinned threads is allowed on KG, I've been gone so long and can't seem to find the rules anymore but my music tastes c. 2007 make me want to weep so I'm sorry if it's not okay. I'ma update it anyway. Jesus my taste in music was horrid. I'd like to reach back five years and backhand myself a few times. ) Major, major update. In no real order. - Disturbed - Avenged Sevenfold - Megadeth - Mudvayne - Ozzy Osbourne - Dream Theater - Papa Roach (only band still on here, hahaha. Saw them live twice. Don't regret it either time as they were al
  3. OoA for me. I was in Florida when it came out and I'd heard good things about OoT. I'd been given money for a souvenir, but I spent it on something more productive and longer lasting.
  4. I watch Deadliest Catch, Mythbusters and Whose Line is it Anyway? regularly. I watch Craig Ferguson, America's Funniest Home Videos, South Park, World's Dumbest and any other stand up comedians I like from time to time (read: every four or five months or so). I'm not much of a TV person...
  5. Whoa, just got back from the hospital (long story, but my mom's staying overnight after some heart problems showed; Dad's notifying everyone else in the family now and she's about to go into surgery soon to get a vein unblocked) and I wasn't expecting this many responses in a few hours. Massive reply to everyone since I'm barely awake but am somehow too stressed to sleep: @Sprit/Phae: Tried it a while ago and all that came up were bands I'd already heard and actively dislike. I'm weirdly picky. @ZF: The second one's not really my thing but the first one's not too bad from where I sit... I'l
  6. Someone pleasepleaseplease give me some suggestions of books to read (anything but romance-y stuff works)/music to listen to (I tend toward thrash/prog/experimental/alt metal with some industrial and hard rock-type thrown in) /stuff to do for the next week. My only friend who lives within walking distance is out of state and I'm pretty much guaranteed to be bored. The more indoors the better, by the way. Humidity's insane around here right now and due to my lung problems the past few years exercising right now is probably not a good idea. I literally get the air knocked out of my lungs when
  7. No, it really doesn't. Screw you, France. Also, I'm lucky that I've found one radio station I like because for whatever reason, my car dislikes my burned CDs. Although, I'm holding off on my license for another three or four months. Ish. I'm almost 21, my temp expired ages ago and I've been too lazy to replace it and in Ohio you can take the driver's test and skip the temps once you're past 21. And my brother's a week away from getting his license. I'm going to let my dad explode his brain with my brother first rather than have to deal with both of us at once.... >_>
  8. Grand Prixses (what the hell is the actual plural of that? Because that looks really wrong) are nice. I have a 2006, though, so maybe I'm just a bit biased... >_> In any case, in my experience they hold up great in accidents. (My maternal creature has an Acura, it smacked my Grand Prix not really that hard. My mother has yet to figure out how to properly reverse as this has happened about six times now with various vehicles. Anyway. The Acura had a back panel all but destroyed, was in the shop for a week. The Grand Prix had a minor scratch that was buffed out and fixed with touch-up pa
  9. Eldest by Christopher Paolini... I need books. Any recommendations? I'll read basically anything outside of romance and except in rare cases, mystery/suspense.
  10. My PS2 did that to one of brother's games a while ago... (Somehow, because I opened the little disc-eating bastard, it meant I had to pay for the game but that's another story.) It'd be nice if there was some way to fix it besides getting a new game. As it is, that really really sucks.
  11. If there was a Jamba Juice near here, I'd probably order a candy-flavored smoothie.. As is it, maybe it's just because I live in the city where Wendy's was started and is headquartered in the present day, but I've seen Grand Slams at the Wendy's that's literally a few blocks away. Never knew they weren't available everywhere, but then, I don't eat fast food at all so I'm only in there on occasion for Frosties or a drink or something...
  12. I look around my side of the basement and there's like six half-eaten boxes of Gushers (roughly two to four packs per box are gone and Fire Truck me, I don't know how long some of these have been down here) and ten or eleven half empty two liters of Dr. Pepper (some of which have been here since June at least) scattered throughout the room. It's like a garden. A garden of caffeine addiction and sugar highs. This, combined with a stash of new library books by my bed, has made me happy beyond all human reason, and I'm not entirely sure why, but I don't care. :Holy Crap: Now I just ne
  13. General news: Dad and Boy had a meeting with the lawyer today... Lawyer thinks he can get the prosecutor to chuck the case out if he asks for a continuance (odd name for a court date delay... Why not just 'delay'?) so here's hoping. @DP: Yes, you seem to have a lot more sensible people than we do here, haha. Mind you, that's not why I intend to move to Canada someday. Has more to do with the nice cold winters and the lack of people in some of the provinces. @LM: Movies are useful, eh? @Yvarg: Yeah, he's fine, basically, thanks for asking. Bruised pretty badly in a couple spots, fa
  14. Was that a federal change, or just a few states? And if it was federal, was it made public or am I just that far out of the loop, because I don't remember hearing about it. No, he wasn't at a stop sign crosswalk, so that answers that... The third point is a bit tricky. Aaron didn't check for cars and his eyesight is so bad he wouldn't have been able to see him anyways. However, he was almost across the crosswalk and was just short of hitting the bike path on the other side, so unless the driver was so blind he'd need to have his license revoked or on his cell phone, he shoulda seen him a
  15. So, say, theoretically, someone gets hit by a car because he pulled out into the crosswalk on his bike, and was almost across when he was hit and didn't see the car come up on him. Also theoretically, the cops ticket the hitee, while giving him some spiel about 'a bike is a vehicle now and you violated the right of way' while the hitter says he was going 20 miles per hour, and the hitee has to go to court because of the ticket. Let's also say that the parent of the hitee doublechecked with the hitee's sibling and a few neighbors to see if the hitter was at all lying about his speed. The sib
